McNairy County Lawn Care FAQ

Honest answers to the questions we hear most often. Don't see your question? Give us a call.

Mowing & Scheduling

How much does weekly mowing cost in McNairy County?

It depends on the property — lot size, terrain, obstacles, and gate access all affect the price. We give every customer a custom written quote after a quick walk-through. The estimate is free and there is no commitment. See our Free Estimate page for how our pricing works.

Weekly or biweekly?

For most McNairy County lawns during the active growing months (April through September), weekly is the right frequency. Biweekly can work in early spring, late fall, or for slower-growing lawns. Mowing too infrequently when grass is growing fast stresses the lawn.

What day will you come?

We assign you a route day when you sign up. Weather can push us by a day or two; we let you know. Otherwise we come the same day every week.

Do you require a contract?

No long-term contracts. Most customers are on a season-to-season basis. We earn the work each year.

What if I cancel?

Cancel any time. We invoice through the date of your last service. No cancellation fee.

Fertilization & Lawn Health

When should I fertilize my lawn in West Tennessee?

A proper program is 5-7 treatments per year, starting with pre-emergent in February-March and ending with a winterizer in November. The single most important treatment is heavy fall feeding in September.

Why is my lawn full of crabgrass?

Crabgrass comes up every spring from seeds already in your soil. The fix is pre-emergent applied at the right time (usually mid-February in McNairy County, before soil temperatures hit 55F). Done correctly, you should see almost no crabgrass all summer.

Should I aerate every year?

For most McNairy County lawns on clay soil — yes. Fall aeration breaks up the compaction that builds up over a year of mowing, foot traffic, and rain. Done annually with overseeding, it transforms a lawn within 1-2 seasons.

Bermuda or Fescue for my new lawn?

Depends on sun. Bermuda needs full sun (6+ hours direct) and gives you the thick, dense lawn most McNairy properties have. Fescue tolerates more shade and stays green year-round but is harder to maintain in the heat. Many McNairy lawns end up as a Bermuda / Fescue mix.

Working With Us

Are you insured?

Yes. General liability covers both your property and our crews. We can provide an insurance certificate on request, which property managers and commercial customers usually want.

How do you handle the gate / dog / access issues?

Tell us at the estimate. We can work with locked gates if you give us the code, and we are careful with dogs (we won't mow if a dog is loose without your prior arrangement).

What if it rains on my day?

We push to the next dry day. You'll get a text or call letting you know. Wet grass clumps and damages the lawn, so we don't mow in real rain.

How do you handle invoicing?

Monthly invoices for ongoing service. Cash, check, or credit card. No autopay required.

Other Services

Do you take down trees?

No. We do small-tree pruning, deadwood removal, and storm cleanup we can safely reach from the ground or a small ladder. For mature trees we refer you to a licensed arborist with a bucket truck and proper insurance.

Do you do irrigation / sprinkler systems?

We do not install or repair irrigation systems. We can refer you to local irrigation professionals.

Do you do pressure washing or other outdoor cleaning?

Not directly. We focus on lawn and landscape work. We can refer you to good local pressure washing operators.

Do you handle commercial properties or just residential?

Both. See our commercial page for details. We work with property managers, rental owners, small businesses, churches, and other commercial sites in McNairy County.
