What's Included in Every Mow
- Full mow at the height that's healthy for the season and your grass type (we don't scalp lawns)
- String-trim around obstacles — fences, mailboxes, trees, edges of beds
- Edge along sidewalks, driveways, and curbs for clean lines
- Blow off all hard surfaces — driveway, sidewalk, porch, patio
- Sharp blades — we sharpen multiple times per season so grass tips don't shred and turn brown
Weekly vs. Biweekly
For most McNairy County lawns during the active growing months (April through September), weekly is the right frequency. Bermuda and Zoysia especially grow fast in our heat and humidity. Biweekly can work in early spring (March), late fall (October-November), or for lawns that are slower-growing or kept on the longer side.
Cutting too infrequently when grass is growing fast stresses the lawn — you should never remove more than one third of the grass blade in a single mow. That's why "I'll just let it go and mow next month" rarely works well.
Mowing Height by Season
- Bermuda / Zoysia (spring & summer): 1.5" - 2.5"
- Bermuda / Zoysia (late fall): raised slightly for winter protection
- Fescue / cool-season: 3" - 3.5" most of the year, lower in early spring
- Mixed McNairy County lawns: we set the height to favor the dominant grass type
