What's Included
- Bed cleanup — weed out existing beds, cut back any dead growth, remove old declined mulch
- Re-edge all beds for clean, crisp lines between bed and lawn
- Fresh mulch installation — 2-3 inch layer in the color and material you want
- Hand-place around plants — we keep mulch off plant stems and tree trunks (no "mulch volcanoes")
- Cleanup — sidewalks, driveways, lawn edges blown clean
Mulch Options
- Natural hardwood mulch — the most common, looks natural, breaks down into soil amendment
- Pine bark mulch — lasts longer, slightly acidic (good for azaleas, hydrangeas)
- Dyed mulch — black, brown, or red. Holds color longer.
- Pine straw — popular for natural-looking installations, easier to install, breaks down faster
When to Mulch
Most McNairy County properties benefit from a full mulch refresh once per year, usually in spring (March-May). Some heavy-traffic areas or aggressive sun exposure may need a touch-up in late summer. We can also install fresh mulch in fall as protective insulation for plants going into winter.
New Bed Installation
If you want a new bed where there is currently lawn, we can dig the bed, install edging or stone, prep the soil, plant if desired, and finish with mulch. Common new-bed projects in McNairy County: foundation plantings, mailbox beds, tree-base rings, island beds in the middle of the yard.
Free Estimate
Bed work is priced by the square foot of bed area, the kind of mulch you choose, and any extras like new bed digging or plant installation. We quote in writing after walking the property — free, no obligation. See how our pricing works.
